Dear friends, patients and neighbors,
Many of you already know me from the treatment room. Many more of you have only seen my name on our website or a booking confirmation. I’d like to introduce myself properly as the founder and medical director of Serene Med Spa, and to tell you what you can expect from us.
I’ve practiced medicine for more than 16 years. I earned my medical degree at Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi. I completed my internal medicine residency at the Bronx VA Medical Center through an NYU-affiliated program and my nephrology fellowship at Tulane University in New Orleans.

I’m also MRO-certified and a Certified Biote Provider for hormone optimization. I earned an MBA from George Washington University.
Alongside Serene, I still care for hospitalized patients as an inpatient nephrologist in Huntington, West Virginia, with an academic affiliation with Marshall University. I also lead Huntington Hospitalist Group.
My interest in aesthetics started during my fellowship at Tulane (2008–2010). Then I moved to West Virginia, built a busy nephrology and hospitalist practice, and set that interest aside for years.
COVID-19 changed that. My work narrowed to inpatient care, nephrology and COVID testing, and it gave me time to think about what I wanted the next chapter to look like. I went back to aesthetics the right way:
Internal medicine and nephrology taught me how medications, blood pressure, kidney function and chronic disease affect every treatment we offer. I bring that lens to every consultation, whether it’s Botox, a CO2 laser, an IV drip or hormone therapy.
I founded Serene with my wife and partner, Dr. Shweta Arora, a board-certified anesthesiologist who is also certified in aesthetic medicine. Stephanie Welker, FNP-BC gave Serene its name and has been part of it from day one.
We saw how often aesthetics priced people out or intimidated them before they ever walked in the door. So we built Serene on a few simple principles:
